Photograph of (a portion of) the right ovary and (adjacent) right fallopian tube revealing filmy (thin) adhesions (scar tissue) between the ovary and the tube. Adhesions can displace these structures from their normal locations to cause subfertility. Also, note the (shiny round translucent) vesicular structures on the surface of the ovary near the adhesion site. These fluid filled blebs or blisters suggest a chronic local irritation (possibly secondary to endometriosis). Adhesiolysis and wide local ablation (removal) of the vesicles is generally performed (ideally using a char free ultrapulse CO2 laser).
